Adam and Meredith at Sibton Park, Wilderness Reserve
Adam and Meredith’s three day celebration at Sibton Park, Wilderness Reserve was the epitome of autumn elegance. The setting felt serene and expansive, with views across the lake and rolling grounds, and the design moved with the day, shifting from soft daylight tones to a deeper, candlelit mood by evening. This is one of the venues I love most, and I am so proud to be a recommended florist at Wilderness Reserve.
The palette
We worked with a seasonal palette full of faded foliages, warm rust, and amber. In the morning the colours were peaches, warm toffee and nude, then as daylight slipped away we introduced darker burgundy and wine notes to enrich the atmosphere for dinner and dancing.
Flower varieties and seasonal ingredients
We leaned into seasonal texture to echo the parkland at Wilderness Reserve. Textural grasses mirrored the long views and brought a natural movement to the designs. Ruffled garden roses were the heartbeat of the designs. They are so signature to my style and instantly add depth and a feeling of quiet luxury. Around them, we layered British grown favourites to keep the day feeling unique to the season. Cosmos, phlox and Burning Embers brought warmth and detail. British grown dahlias and hydrangea added structure and fullness. Rosehips threaded through the meadows and bowls for a nod to the hedgerow. These ingredients let the palette shift gently through the day. Morning began with peaches, toffee and nude tones. Evening settled into richer wine and burgundy so dinner felt cocooned and candlelit.
Ceremony on the terrace
The ceremony began at 11 am on the Sibton Park terrace overlooking the lake. Meredith carried a bouquet of creamy, peachy blooms including cosmos, phlox and garden roses. We created an encircling floor meadow that looked as if it had grown up from the ground, with grasses, rosehips and autumn texture to anchor everything to the season.
Brunch in the Walled Garden
After the vows, guests headed for a relaxed brunch in the Walled Garden with curated cocktails. We created the first of two tablescapes using table bowls alongside patterned linens and seasonal fruit. The palette echoed the ceremony with flowers in shades of toffee, peach, pink and cream. The famous Wilderness Reserve Land Rover Defenders became outdoor bars serving Bloody Marys. We surrounded the Defender with floral meadows so it felt as though the flowers were growing all around them.
Evening in the Orangery
Guests enjoyed a few hours of free time before the evening. Meanwhile, we repurposed the ceremony and brunch flowers and brought them together in the Orangery, then added new elements to deepen the palette. We introduced taller, more dramatic table bowls, rich dark bud vases and ikebana bowls. The room was dressed with foliage climbing the walls so dinner felt like dining in a woodland. Outside, rain tumbled down, which made the candlelight feel even more intimate and luxurious.
The day before and the day after
The celebrations began with a Fire Feast in the woodland the night before the wedding. We lined the tables with small ikebana bowls, relaxed and simple, perfect for a night that felt very English countryside. Think Barbour coats, woodsmoke and fire breathing.
The day after, guests enjoyed a slow morning with tennis, archery and clay pigeon shooting, followed by a roast dinner back at the Orangery. We flipped the room to feel more casual and laid back, again repurposing florals from the wedding day.
A few honest moments from behind the scenes
Not every wedding is without hiccups. My hire van broke down at the venue, and there was still another load of flowers at my studio in Norfolk for the following day. I had a little cry, then called the hire company, who delivered a replacement van to Wilderness Reserve and arranged for the original to be fixed. They even drove to my studio, loaded the remaining flowers, and brought them to us, which was unbelievably kind.
My brilliant freelancer and friend Katy stayed with me for a late switch in the Orangery. We were served a delicious meal while we waited and chatted until it was time to reset the room for the evening. I am endlessly grateful for my team of freelancers who worked so hard to bring the vision to life.
